Advantages Of Having Ebike While Camping

An electric bike, or ebike, can provide numerous benefits when used for camping trips. Firstly, an ebike allows campers to explore the surrounding area easily and efficiently, without the need for a car or other mode of transportation. Down Time Of Equipment

Nothing says fun ruined than down time of your riding equipment ; unfortunately things break , causing you to miss out on a ride with family or friends.  This is why proper maintenance is essential of your equipment.  It is always a good idea to have your equipment checked out at a bike shop once a year , or gone over if you are a DIY person , or have good Mechanical knowledge of you're a equipment . The main thing is to go over the whole bike and check everything is working properly and smoothly.  Also make sure everything is greased and lubricated as well. Check for lose nuts and bolts , and check wear on tires and breaks . I normally check mine daily for the most common issues . Once you are done doing that it time for fun , Ride Time , Be safe , and always wear your safety gear .

Another Rainy Day In Pa

With Spring approaching fast and the weather starting to get warmer , the bicycle and ebike season is about to begin full scale. Meaning bike trails and public access points are going to be getting packed with people again . The rain can have many negative effects on your equipment from sqeeky brake noises to reduced stopping power . I have experienced this issue first hand , sometimes it is as easy as wiping down the parts creating the noise,  other times it can mean needing to on the ride repairs , that is why it is always a great idea to be prepared by having spear brake pads , tools , patch kits , tire levers , tools , etc. Somewhere handy on your bike. Nothing is worse another not being able to resolve a issue with your equipment , and having to push your equipment for miles to your destination.

Helmet Safety Importance

As a cyclist for many years the question has always been should I or shouldn't  I wear a helmet on a bicycle or ebike ? Well , basically the answer is a simple "YES" , And here's why . With the new technology behind ebikes and regular bicycle gearing and drive systems for bicycles and ebikes we are able to go faster than ever before on our equipment.  Which is not a bad thing , but when it comes down to it the human head isn't exactly impact resistant. Think of it this way remember the good memories of Thanksgiving dinners and get to pull the wish bone . How easy it broke by pulling it with two peoples pinky fingers , Well now imagine your head as that wish bone and the ground as the pinky fingers . Add the mix of speeds up to 20 - 45 miles a hours with some of the newer equipment coming out , and those impacts to the head can be very dangerous if not life ending in some cases .

Range Anxiety And Limitations

As a long time cyclist and ebike rider I have always known the limitations of the equipment I'm using , There is nothing worst than having ebike battery go dead . There are a few options at that point peddle , push , recharge, or carry spare battery. All of which have their own set backs , The best thing is know the limits of your equipment, plan your rides and always allow for a little less distance than what you know your battery will last , and if possible try to have a back up . Being forced to peddle the average ebike isn't always a easy task, they normally weight between 60lbs to a 100+ pounds, and the isn't going to be a easy task especially going up a grade or steep hill . And if you are older like myself we aren't the young riders we used to be , and many of us have health issues and limits . So the best advice I can give is always plan ahead your ride , make sure you have equipment with you that you may need , bring a extra battery if you have one , stay Hydrated even in the colder weather , have fun , and always be safe as possible.
